A competitive innovation grant program for Hawaiʻi youth with ideas for place-based solutions to local challenges.
Apply by July 30Kīpuka: an oasis within a lava bed where life has survived.
Students submit their written application along with a proposed budget and overview video according to the requirements.
Winners will be selected to receive grant funding of up to $2,000.
Grantees will submit funding requests to make purchases needed to implement their project. They will report on progress at milestones they set for themselves.
At the end of the grant period, grantees will submit a final reflection reporting on final outcomes and learnings.

Hawaiʻi-based High School students are invited to apply.
Videos will be evaluated based on the following:
Ideas should be rooted in place (e.g. Hawaiʻi, Oʻahu, Kaneohe, your neighborhood, etc).
Projects should aim to create a positive social and/or environmental impact in your community.
Your video should explain why you/your team are passionate about the topic and well equipped to create positive impact.
